Last week in parliament Prime Minister José Sócrates announced that the period allowed for making IVA payments was to be reduced. For those contributing monthly, the period is to be reduced by 10 days to 20 days, and for quarterly payments the period will also be 20 days, reduced from 106 days. Sócrates also announced that credit lines for small and micro businesses, with up to 50 employees, would be increased by €200 million to €800 million.
