Twelve shops over 2.000 square metres in size were closed by the Authority for Alimentary and Economic Safety (ASAE) on Good Friday, as they had continued trading after 1pm on a bank holiday. Amongst those ordered to close were Makro in Guia and Recheio in Faro. All the stores face possible fines of between €2.400 and €25.000.
